Growing with the Westside for Over 40 Years
Established to serve the needs of the growing Westside community in Merced County, Memorial Hospital Los Banos (MHLB) opened its doors on Sept. 5, 1967 with 48 beds. Today, MHLB is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and operates as a non-profit, general care medical center with 26 active physicians on staff.
Throughout our history, MHLB has achieved several milestones. In 1993, the facility opened a Helipad service, and a portable MRI was added to meet the growing needs of Los Banos and the surrounding areas in 2002. In 2006, we remodeled and expanded our Rural Health Clinic, offering more than seven clinics.
Our hospital is affiliated with Memorial Hospitals Association, a not-for-profit organization that exists to maintain and improve the health status of citizens in its geographical area. In May 1996, the Memorial Hospitals Association affiliated with Sutter Health. Since then, MHLB has benefited from the affiliation by enjoying reduced operating expenses and stronger contractual relationships with health insurance plans.
Rising to the needs of the growing community of Los Banos and the surrounding areas, Memorial Hospital Los Banos continues expanded its services, both internally and externally, to meet the health care needs in our community.
